I have worked for the same company for two years now. In these two years I have been laid off twice. Today, companies are afraid of the economy for various reasons. What I have seen with the company I work for is uncertainty. They don’t know from day to day what will happen. When the work load slows down we are given the option to go home early and when it gets slower the layoff comes. The first time we were laid off for 4 1/2 months. This time we were laid off two weeks earlier than last year. My co-workers and I are usually called back some time in June. I am fortunate that some if not all of us will be called back.
Depending on your particular needs like maybe day care for children you will need to restructure finances and what you need and can get by without. Ask yourself what to do if you are laid off, laid off for over a year, will I be laid off and laid off and looking for work. When you have ask these question’s then prioritize your needs. I have found that a quick return to basic needs is a real eye opener. We all need food, clothing, shelter and transportation.
Every day many people are being laid off. At any time in the course of a day people are turning to the internet for answers. Some of the searches people are doing include surviving a lay off, budgeting, lay off and looking for work.
